The Alpine resort shares geographical space with the ski areas of Motta and Valle de Lei. The station is characterized by a maximum elevation of 3,000, one of the highest in the Italian Alps. The intermediate station sits at 2,150 meters while the base reaches 1,550 meters in altitude. As a result, Madesimo offers an alpine difference of 1,500 meters, placing in the top ten of the Italian stations. On a sporting level, it offers 61 kilometers of skiable routes in 33 tracks. Within this set, it is possible to distinguish a green of beginners, 15 blue, 13 red of advanced level and five for expert skiers. To move on this circuit Madesimo offers a total of 12 lifts to users. To get to the ski resort you have to pass through the town of Madeley, which belongs to the province of Sondrio. The resort is part of the Valchiavena alpine area, one of the most popular for British skiers. This alpine resort comprises the towns of Madeley, Campodolcino, Motta and Lei Valley. Madesimo has a suggestive offer for off-piste skiing thanks to its abundant snowfall and the extension of its forests and paths. Among the routes most demanded is the track that starts from Pizzo Groppera and ends at Pian dei Larici. The route has a distance of 3 kilometers. The skier starts from an altitude of almost 3,000 meters and descends almost a thousand meters to the end. Inside the Valley of Lei it emphasizes the descent through the Angeloga Pass to the town of Fraciscio. Every Saturday night, the station provides several special tracks for night tours. In particular are those of 'Pianello' and 'Montalto'. The price does not exceed 10 euros. The access gondola is operational until 22.30.
