In the splendid spa town of Merano, the Christmas Markets
are held from November to January. The Lungo Passirio Promenade comes alive with
stalls. Here, everything is magical: the scent of cinnamon and spices
that recalls homemade sweets, the soft light of the lights and
the decorated Christmas tree, the cheerful harmony that is released
in the air…
There are eighty exhibitors offering
Christmas decorations, boiled wool slippers, ceramics, traditional fabrics,
wooden figurines and toys, and traditional German
objects, such as nutcrackers, Christmas pyramids, music boxes... In many
stands, you can admire the artisans at work creating
their works. At the stands of the Christmas Market in Merano you will find
many typical products: such as speck, apple strudel,
wine, mulled wine and pastry specialties are accompanied by the music of
choirs and wind groups and the ancient traditions of Advent.
Since 2014, the Christmas Markets of Merano have been certified Green Event, as they are organized according to environmental protection criteria.
